An Immersive Creative Photography Workshop

This is an all-inclusive ICM workshop experience with Bill Ward and Stephanie Johnson set in the historic ceremonial county of Northumberland.  Famed for its grand architecture, castles, landscapes, and beaches, Northumberland is bordered to the north by Scotland and has long been considered an English frontier zone.  This workshop will explore the rugged and vast beauty of this iconic region through the use of ICM, multiple exposures, and creative photography techniques, in an immersive and collaboratively creative experience, under the expert guidance and encouraging mentorship of Bill and Stephanie.

Spend three days and nights with Bill and Stephanie in this all-inclusive workshop experience, expanding your creativity and artistry through the use of ICM, Multiple Exposures, and other Creative Photography techniques.

Bill and Stephanie bring an unmatched level of knowledge, experience, passion, and love for the genre of ICM and Creative Photography for you to tap into.  They are both well-known for their individual and unique styles, as well as for their dedicated practices for guiding, mentoring, and coaching others to find their own creative paths with ICM and Creative Photography.  Both extremely passionate teachers, Bill and Stephanie share a similar artistic philosophy and immersive approach that make this workshop an exciting creative opportunity not to be missed.

This workshop is designed to immerse you in the amazing landscapes, beaches, and coastal areas Northumberland is famous for, where you will purposefully connect with your inner artist.  Being fully immersed in the beauty and rejuvenating spirit of this iconic location, you will leave the cares of the outside world behind, while meaningfully exploring your artistic expression through hands-on field work and the inspiring mentoring of Bill and Stephanie.  In a collaborative and co-learning environment with other like minded creative photographers, you will be inspired to reimagine Northumberland to create images that uniquely represent your personal experience and which speak to your own inner creative spirit.

Andy Gray

Northumberland-Based Impressionist ICM Photographer

Andy Gray

Andy is an internationally-known and well-loved Impressionist ICM photographer based in a small rural Northumbrian village, and Northumberland features prominently in his creative work.  The subtle landscapes, coastline, and nature in general have shaped his artistic vision and continue to inspire him.

He is equally comfortable in front of a computer, creating images from the data he has captured with his digital camera.  He has never been afraid of experimenting in his digital darkroom workflow, which has been a large factor in the way his own individual style of ICM photography has developed over the years.  Andy hosts a widely-popular YouTube channel where he holds regular Tuesday Night Edits to share his editing and thought processes in the creation of his images.

He often credits JMW Turner, a master English painter of the 19th century, along with later Impressionists, as his inspiration to create the images he does.

As our guest photographer, Andy will spend a day out on-location in the landscape with us in Northumberland, a place he knows quite intimately and which features so brilliantly in his images.  With his vast knowledge and experience of Northumberland, his artistic and creative insights will provide a wealth of inspiration for participants in the creation of their images during this workshop, as well as helping enable participants to experience Northumberland in unique ways that will shine through their own individual work.

In addition to spending a day out and about with us, Andy will wrap up the day by giving a presentation and sharing his passion, insights, and creative processes in a classroom setting, where participants will have the opportunity to interact and ask questions.  We are excited for this opportunity to have Andy join us for what is sure to be a truly inspiring day for all.
